A Brush with Divinity
Hamilton-based artist Harman Kaur breathes new life into the timeless tradition of Kangra painting, a delicate and lyrical form of Indian miniature art. Through her intricate brushwork, she explores the profound spiritual heritage of Sikhi, creating pieces that are both devotional and deeply personal.
Born in 1997 and raised amidst the vibrant cultural tapestry of Delhi, India, Harman’s artistic journey began not in a formal academy, but through an innate passion for storytelling and a deep connection to her faith. This self-driven exploration was later honed through intensive online workshops with contemporary masters—the living gurus of the art form—ensuring her work remains rooted in authentic, centuries-old techniques.
Since the inception of her practice, Harman has offered both original artworks and fine art prints, making this historically exclusive art form accessible to a wider audience. Her vision is ambitious: to not only preserve this delicate art, but to reinvigorate the Indian miniature scene, introducing its narrative power and exquisite beauty to a new generation of collectors.
Now married and settled in Hamilton, Canada, Harman's studio serves as a bridge between worlds. From here, she continues to share a piece of her heritage, sending her art to homes across the globe. Each painting is more than just an image; it is an invitation to pause, reflect, and connect with a tradition of timeless spiritual beauty.
Thank you for joining me on this journey.
